Corrections
We get facts right, and when we do not, we say so plainly. This is the standing policy for the life of the title.
The policy
- Corrections are appended at the foot of the article, dated, describing what changed and why.
- Corrections are never made silently. A factual change after publication always carries a dated note.
- Substantial errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed; minor errors (spelling, style) are corrected with a dated note where they affect meaning.
- If a reader reports an error, we acknowledge it and investigate. Reports reach us through the contact channel listed on our Contact page.
What this means in practice
The archive is the record. We do not rewrite history to look tidy. A reader who finds an old article finds its corrections with it, dated and legible. That is how a title earns the right to publish the numbers.
